Video: Hot Health Technologies

Carter Groome says the technologies FCP’s commercial and federal health IT clients are talking about are around the cloud, tablets, and patient-centered care. He expects the virtualization of software and services to be an important trend this year. The advancements in service-oriented architecture that have been made in finance and manufacturing will be embraced by healthcare. Carter predicts once that happens, real-time data and analytics will allow hospitals to gain efficiency and improve reimbursements. Another trend Carter sees exploding is tablet computing and patient-centered care. Patients are using wellness management apps at home and the role hospitals play in that area will be changing this year.
